Source Data
This function groups rows or columns to create outline structure using a selection in a single row or column, based on the character padding as indication of the outline level. Please refer to the section “Outline Structures in Excel Data” in the chapter “Concepts Behind TreeWiz” above for more information about character padding in source data.
Key Steps
To group your source data based on Lead Characters / Character Padding, follow the steps below.

Excel’s built-in outline controls can be positioned at the top of a group (i.e. aligned with the parent row), or at the bottom, aligned with the last child row. The native default for Excel is bottom, but TreeWiz default is top, because this is more natural from an outlining perspective |
