This function groups rows or columns to

Analyses the text values of each node and produces a frequency report that looks at each level in the hierarchy separately. Only relevant for “Outline Id” and “Delimited Path”

Key Steps

To analyse the level frequency of lobe values in source Delimited Path data, follow the steps below.

Select the column or row that contains the outline structure source data that you want to analyse.

NOTE: this function is only applicable to Delimited Path source data.

Click on the “Analyse Node Levels” button in the TreeWiz Ribbon Menu

Edit the parameters in the Parameters Form that is activated

Click on “OK’ to perform the function or “Cancel” to exit

The function will perform

Click on “Cancel” or the form close icon to close the form.

Results

The Analyse Nodes Levels creates a report worksheet containing the results of the analysis.

The columns for this report are:

  1. Node value – the literal string for each lobe of the input paths
  2. Node Level – the level at which each instance of the node value occurs
  3. Node Freq – the count at each level for each instance of the node literal string value

Refer to the figure below for an example of the report output.

Now, if we sort the table by Node Value, we see what nodes are possibly at different levels in the table, and what other similar phrases are at different places in the tree. This may provide input to optimisations that could be performed on the tree structure to make it more efficient.
